Welcome to the 2011 season for the South Bay Trap League!
132 shooters indulged themselves in the finest weather conditions we have experienced for a South Bay shoot in over a year. It was great to see all you returning shooters, both longtime participants and those of you who joined our band of merry men and women during last season.
And a big welcome to all our new shooters: Mike Chechi, Dennis Franklin, Matthew Hill, Robert Margarite, John Sculatti, Bryant Van Fleet and father and son Pasqual Giannotta Sr and II. We hope that your participation carries through this year. It makes the effort that our staff puts into hosting the shoots gratifyingly worthwhile.
Thanks to the staff at Livermore for running a smooth and timely shoot. We were done at 5pm including all the shoot-off activity. Also, thanks to our office staff for their tireless efforts........the bank and the decided trophies were available for distribution a third of the way through our shoot-off activity.
All the host clubs showed excellent participation at this first shoot of the season. Please keep it up through the year.
Also, we noticed some big smiles on shooter's faces as they opened their payoff envelopes and found a tidy chunk of the "added money" given away at the Grand. Congratulations, and don’t forget Uncle Sam for his share of your ‘Grand’ winnings.
Safety review: Remember to always check your squad for handicap yardage differences, 2 yards post to post and 3 yards maximum per squad.
Here's to another excellent season and see you at Santa Clara County Field Sports Park (SCCFSP, aka Metcalf) on March 12. And please remember the county park rules don’t allow any alcoholic beverages.
Dennis and Warren Prior to the February 2011 shoot we caught a math error in audit concerning the Perfect 50's purse. We published a $217 purse in the newsletter and corrected the purse value to $147 on signs at the cashier's station at the shoot.
We had 46 entries for the Perfect 50's purse for the February shoot and no Perfect 50's were paid. The total Perfect 50's purse for March is $193. |
