We had 109 shooters who found their way to Sunnyvale. The shooters and the club did an excellent job for a very smoothly run event. We had no problem getting the program completed before the 6pm curfew. A big "thank you" to everyone. Now if we could do something about the wind machine that got turned on during Doubles ...
Congratulations to all the winners this month. You can be proud that you survived Mother Nature‘s help during doubles. And Junior shooter Paige Martin won her first shootoff for D-Singles ... way to go Paige! It‘s great that we have young shooters coming to continue our sport.
Last year we had several early season shoots that were below 100 attendees and we asked all you shooters to bring a friend. THANK YOU ALL! Your continued support of the league and recruitment of other shooters has worked. Our new shooter this month was Scot Taylor. Welcome to the merry band.
We have a wonderfully diverse group of shooters in this league. They travel from as far away as San Francisco, Los Banos, and Ahwahnee, and they range from almost beginners to "hall of fame" shooters. Take some time between your events and meet some new people. This is a great opportunity to learn something new, and make some new friends.
We are still looking for volunteers to run the league and/or work in the office for next season. You can see your club‘s representative (later in this flyer) or track us down at any of the SBLT shoots. We‘re also available via the e-mail link from our website www.sbtl.org.
Rule review - this year the ATA has updated their rule for a 'failure to fire'. The new rule allows that a 'flinch' that prevents you from pulling the trigger is now considered a failure to fire. But all the other parts of the rule remain, and still only 2 allowed per subevent.
We hope to see you in Newman next month. Registration starts at 9 am and shooting will start at 10 am. We‘ll again be starting 5 traps for singles - so don‘t be late. We also shoot "Random Doubles" at Newman - once we‘ve started the Handicap event, you can take your whole squad and sign up to shoot your Doubles on Trap 1.
We hope you had nice Easter, and remember - ovoid is a shape too (trap shooting humor - see us if you need an explanation ...)
