Howdy SBTL,
Notes from the Shoot Office will be a little different this month. Normally I try to use this space to provide shoot guidance or updates re-lated to things that happen at the shoot office each month, or globally answer questions that we receive where those answers might be of interest to a wider audience.
This month we need to discuss some transitions that will be happening with me and the rest of the SBTL team.
You will note that for the last several months the newsletter distribution and website updates have been happening very late. Normally as a consultant, I can fully dictate my schedule. Starting in late February 2012, I started a gig where I have had less control of my schedule. I have put in a significant number of work hours each week and this has severely impacted the tasks that I handle for the SBTL.
As of next week, this contract gig is turning permanent and will expand to include not only round the clock conference calls (Isn’t the world of Global Organizations fun!!), and World-wide travel beginning in August. As such, my personal time will be even more impacted than it is now.
I personally apologize that the league has been impacted by my schedule, however the positive thing is that Steve/Kerry and I are work-ing toward a different distribution of back-office labor. Over the next several months we plan to smooth out all the little wrinkles that we currently have to allow the back-office to function more closely to normal.
I would ask that each member of the STBL please give us a little patience as we work through these upcoming changes. Remember we are all volunteers and we are taking time away from our families to happily service the members of this league. I will still be around to maintain continuity and technical expertise but I will move even farther into the background.
Many thanks.
One quick thing about this months Newsletter ... you will note a slight format change. This happens each year after the 5th shoot when we begin to publish the year-to-date Year-End standings. Please remember that we do have limited space in the paper newsletter. For a com-plete list, please review the data on the Website. It is important that you confirm the Class/Yardage Bucket that you are in for the Year-End Awards. If something looks funky to you, please let us know. It also might help if each shooter reviews the Year-End Award rules.
As always if anyone has questions, please post them to the website and someone will get back to you (even me from India if need be!).
Happy Shooting,
Warren FAY
